Fairchild Golden Child Parameters

 

The Golden Child is our tube-inspired hardware version of the Fairchild 660/670 compressor – the holy grail compressor that brings warmth and glow to any instrument, voice or recording. There’s magic in the way it glues mixes and enhances any type of sound recording. At the touch of a button, audio goes from feeling bare and bland to sparkling with depth and dimension.

The Golden Child has six controls featuring:

  • Vari-mu tube input gain with saturation
  • Ultra-fast attack – from 10 microseconds to 11ms
  • Release from 54ms to 3 sec
  • Controllable threshold
  • Compression from 1/1 ratio all the way to 30/1ratio
  • Clean output make-up gain
  • Inputs: 1/4″ and XLR w/ phantom power
  • Output jacks: Unfiltered and filtered. Unfiltered application gives acoustic instruments direct access to the PA/DI recording. Filtered application takes electric instruments through traditional amplifiers
