This recording of “Don Giovanni” is based on the so-called Vienna version, the last to have been performed during Mozart’s lifetime. It also, however, includes the numbers of the opera’s première in Prague. The Vienna version corresponds to the recorded performance without the appendix.
(To hear the Prague version, the following sequence of tracks on CD 3 should be programmed: 17-21 and 8-16. In addition, for this version, the Aria no. 10a (CD 1-24) is omitted.)
