This is a vintage 1980s pedalboard / power supply designed for use with the DOD Performer series pedals as well as the later FX-series. The Performer series used either two 9V batteries or a 20V power supply with a 1/4″ plug. The FX series pedals used a single 9V battery or a 9V power supply with a mini-jack plug. The FX-105 provides five 1/4″ jacks and five mini jacks.
This unit comes with 4 different DOD Performer Series Pedals- The Stereo Chorus, Flanger, Compressor/Limiter, and the Distortion.
About the 565-A Stereo Chorus
An analog comb filter design in a floor unit. Has controls for delay time, sweep width and sweep speed. It really is a pseudo stereo unit in that the delay is mixed with the dry signal for one channel and the an inverted delay signal is mixed with the dry for the other. Very Cool if you’re into the lush sounds of vintage chorus in the 80’s. Really cool Cure tones.
About the 575-A Flanger
This line was designed to be ‘studio quality’ – running at 18 Volts for higher headroom and studio fidelity. This is very important for a flanger as it is typically used with distortion, and higher voltage means your signal will pass through unclipped. Built like a tank, made in america, rare SAD512 analog bbd chip – these are becoming hard to find!
About the 525-A Compressor Limiter
Nearly the same as most good OTA compressors out there, with exception of higher headroom, level of presence and studio quality compression. Dynamics are richer and without the knowledge of the voltage in play, there is something quite magnetic about the tone. Almost magic. Decent level of boost and sufficient controls. Yes. This unit can take on any modern compressor.
About the 555-A Distortion
( Due to people taking advantage of eBay / Reverb return policies; wanting to “try out and/or pilfer parts” we can no longer take returns on used gear unless it arrives damaged. Sorry for this inconvenience. We test and guarantee all gear to be 100% working unless stated otherwise )
