This ’64 has been completely gone through and is 100% completely stock and original!

This ’64 Bassman was sold to us as part of the John Neff retirement collection of pieces going back

to Maui Recorders. The studio that he owned with Walter Becker in the 80’s.

1964 Fender Bassman

This particular Bassman we’re selling was bought in the ’90s at the Hollywood Guitar Center on Sunset Blvd.

This Bassman sounds fantastic and should bring my years of ear burning pleasure.

Like other Fender amps, the Bassman evolved through the ’50s and ’60s, starting as a combo and then being a head/cabinet combination product in 1961. Starting in 1964, the Bassman was built with Fender’s blackface amp design. Though the original 1952 design was intended and marketed as a bass guitar amplifier, guitar players all over quickly adopted these venerable amps as their own thanks to amazing breakup and beefy bottom end. The “blackface” Bassman amps with AA165 and AB165 circuits from the mid-60s are often heralded as the cream of the crop for classic rock tones, and their ability to take pedals well makes them a great choice for the modern player with a packed pedal board.
